·         Maintaining and tracking Build Plan Schedule, Time Line for new product/programs.

·         Reviewed and approved component procurement authorizations from external suppliers to support forecasts and procurement strategy, which saved ½ millions dollars annually.

Product/Process Development Engineer (1991-1998)                                                                               

Responsibilities began at product conception and extend through final product release. Formed and led cross-functional teams to assess problems and obstacles to the transition of New products. A proven track record of developing manufacturing techniques and new process; project management to ensure completion of projects on time and to customers specification; generating and issuing process instructions to enable product manufacture.

·         Resolved delivery problems that resulted in shipping products 1 month ahead of schedule.

·         Served as a liaison role between Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Marketing on building the new prototype for customer approval in compressed 1 month time frame.

·         Created the ECO’s for volume line-trial launching, and Corrective actions for retesting the customer returns products, which resulted in the increase of 15% gross profit.

·         Developed and implemented new inspection strategies, new processes, and new equipment for the method of defect screening, resulting in reducing the failed yield percentage from 50% to 15%.

·         Generated and issued the new process instructions for improving the miss-labeling problem, resulting in reducing the in-corrected shipment percentage from 15% to 3%.

R&D Engineering Technician (1987-1990)              

Responsible for performing and carrying out various tasks in Failure Analysis and Tribology areas:

·         Performed failure analysis investigation; defect testing, defect mapping, optical microscopic inspecting, optical testing, and SEM/EDX for identification of defects material on the disk.

·         Performed Tencor, TMS, AFM measurement of disks’ surface roughness, AFM, Micro XAM for bump height measurement, FTIR measurement of lubricant thickness on thin film media disks, Zygo measurement for ABS profile, and LDJ coercivity measurement.

·         Installed, built, and maintained the CSS testers for analyzing friction/stiction data & accelerated corrosion data.

·         Maintained software upgrades and modifications for CSS routine summary printout, and graphic representation – Installed database programs for CSS data management.
